Yagmur (31) und Enes (33) are a young couple from Istanbul. They live together in a German city and work as doctoral students at an institute for biological intelligence. Between their research on birdsong and the development of both the self and the shared, they learn what it takes to make themselves understood—and to understand others. With this premise, “Vom Singen Träumen” (Dreaming of Singing) explores the fundamental conditions and dynamics of human communication. The film portrays the relationship between two people who take on the roles of friend, partner, and colleague for one another, while drawing parallels to their scientific study of birdsong.
